Enrolment procedures at the Intensive English Centre

To enrol, the parents/guardians and the child must both attend the enrolment by making an appointment. you can make an appointment by:

1.       www.picktime.com/miec (choose your language)

2.       Call +61295500251 between 8:30am to 3:15pm

Please bring a completed enrolment form to the appointment. If you do not have access to a printer, please email the form to marrickvil-i.school@det.nsw.edu.au BEFORE attending the appointment. 

Please read the following information carefully.

At Marrickville Intensive English Centre, we always welcome new students of high school age and their families anytime during the term who live in our student-drawing area, from Drummoyne/Balmain to the north to Tempe in the south and Newtown to the east to Burwood/Campsie in the west.

Students from 11 years old to 18 years old (in their last year of High School) are eligible to enrol at the Intensive English Centre (IEC).

The following documents are required to enrol:

  • NSW Department of Education Enrolment form: Completed and printed (link below)
  • Passport (including Visas)
  • Parent/guardian photo ID, showing current address
  • For DE International Student, Department of Education International documents with S0***** reference number
  • 3 x passport size photos

Temporary visa or visitor visa

If your child has a temporary visa or visitor visa, you will first need to apply to enrol by contacting the Temporary Residents Program who will give you forms to bring to the school. For more information, please telephone the Temporary Residents Program on 1300 300 229 Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm (Sydney time) or visit their website Temporary Resident Program.

 

Year 6 into Year 7 IEC enrolments

If your child is currently enrolled in Year 6 in a government Primary school, and you wish to apply to enrol in our IEC, contact the Primary School Principal or Year 6 Coordinator at your current school to discuss the possibility of transfer.

If it is approved your child’s primary school will complete a transfer form and forward it to our IEC. We will contact the Primary School once a decision has been made about your child's potential enrolment, and the next steps to be taken.

 

Special health conditions

It's important that you tell the IEC Office or Head Teacher if your child has any special circumstances, allergies, health or medical conditions, before your child starts school.
