The English course at Marrickville Intensive English Centre (MIEC) equips its students with the language skills and cultural knowledge necessary for a smooth and confident transition to the appropriate level in an Australian high school.
Focusing on listening, speaking, reading, writing and responding, we provide all students with a diverse repertoire of meaningful vocabulary, a relevant grammar foundation and a broad range of stimulating and challenging texts. MIEC follows the NSW Intensive English Program Curriculum Framework, which consists of:
- The Level 1 course (beginners) that takes students out of the unfamiliar and strange, helping them adjust to, understand and confidently use the English language in their new Australian environment.
- The Level 2 course (intermediate) that empower students with the language and knowledge to become independent learners, thinkers and questioners.
- The Level 3 course which consolidates the language and skills the students have acquired, enabling them to access and successfully manage the more difficult concepts and tasks they will face in high school.
